1. Retrofit Insulation
More than 80 % of Europe’s densely populated areas, which
were built before 1980, have insufficient levels of insulation. These
older homes consume two to three times the amount of energy in
comparison to the energy efficient homes being built today. Climatizer
thermal insulation is not only the best way to save money on energy
cista but eventually energy efficient buildings will be the required by
our lawmakers. Since the 1st of January, 2006 the Energy passport will
determine whether a building is equipped with well insulated walls and
with modern heating or if it is an old “barracks”
that the wind blows through. Energy saving features will be the future
critical property evaluation criteria, that buyers will demand before
purchase and renters will expect before leasing.
Retrofit thermal
insulation of older homes
When the ceiling is located between heated and unheated floors (attic,
cellar), adequate thermal insulation is necessary to prevent
undesirable heat transfer. This is normally not present in older homes.
In the best case, it is possible to find the buildings partially filled
with a low functional slag insulation or with an aged mixture of
sawdust or chaff with lime. If the supporting beams construction are
properly dimensioned, CLIMATIZER PLUS may be blown into the available
space to considerably improve the structure's thermal insulating
properties (see the detail D1).
Roof space
insulation according to detail D2 enables cellulose insulation to be
installed without dismantling any interior paneling.
It can also be installed from the sides and will fulfill all ENEV
requirements.

27 – 40 kg / m3
Climatizer
Plus cellulose uniformly covers all cracks, crevices and
gaps which conventional insulation would not cover, ensuring that no
thermal bridging occurs as well as eliminating any weak points.
This method is one of the easiest and quickest processes of insulating
any ceiling. The insulation is installed directly into the attic
through an insulation blowing machine. It should be applied to an attic
that has little or no traffic to ensure the insulation is not disturbed.
3. The thermal insulation
of twin-canopy ventilated roofs by the dry
application method
30
– 45 kg / m3
Specially trained
professionals use Climatizer Plus to insulate
cavities in walls, attic spaces and any areas where heat losses can be
reduced. Using this technique a uniform layer of insulation is
installed to create a monolithic seal in all areas with gaps, crevices
and also in inaccessible places. To ensure insulation stability and
quality assurance our installers use only modern installation
equipment, which can be calibrated to suit any application.
In this way, the twin-canopy roofs with the vent air gap attached to
the outdoor environment have assured the moisture removal which comes
into the air slot by diffusion from the interior. Proper roof
ventilation depends on suitable vent ports that are correctly located
and sized. This ensures the air will properly flow in and out of the
vent slot. The disadvantages of this roof cladding are typically due to
insufficiently sized thermal insulation and inadequate ventilation. The
classical way of reparing these older buildings is typically by means
of completely
dismantling the top cover. CLIMATIZER
PLUS insulation utilizes a completely different design concept that
saves labor and material costs.

Simple solution of a ventillated roof construction with thermal
insulation
We install a manhole
roof which has the best ventilation concept
provided by active vent caps. Installing them at the correct locations
in combination with the suction openings and caps provides the
sufficient outlet of the air saturated with vapours out of vent slot.
At the subsequent
thermal insulation of smaller half span roofs, it is
often enough to enlarge and clean the original loft vent openings, when
they are properly located.
On the contrary, at the subsequent thermal insulation of the large
V-roofs with a valley, it is necessary to clean the original loft vent
openings and at the same time to install new, properly located caps.
Prior to the start of
CLIMATIZER PLUS application, we perform thermal
technical calculations to determine how much insulation is needed and
where new locations of vents need to be
installed. This is a mandatory prerequisite for reliable roof
performance.
The CLIMATIZER PLUS retrofit of thermal insulation to the inaccessible
ventilated roof. After the application has been performed a gap remains
between the insulation and the upper
mantel. The opened ends are covered with a vent cap.
